Stewarding Our Facilities and Property

Trustees

The Trustees are the keepers of the building and grounds of Sterling Church.  They oversee the maintenance of the church and of the Parsonage (the residence of the Senior Pastor).  Requests for use of the church property are considered by the Trustees, and all capital improvements are made under their guidance.

Worship & Welcoming

The Worship and Welcoming committee work hard all year to help plan engaging worship experiences that invite everyone into the presence of God.  The members of this committee represent music, ushers, communion assistants, greeters, AV, communications, and ministry positions.

Staff Parish Relations

Members of the Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) work closely with the staff of Sterling Church and act as a liaison between the team and the congregation.  SPRC handles all Human Resource functions for the church  and, due to the nature of their business, their minutes (and meetings) are not open to the public.

Fellowship

The fellowship committee seeks to create opportunities for Christian fellowship among the members of Sterling Church by planning events, hosting weekly coffees and offering assistance as needed to other committees.

Nurturing Spiritual Growth & Learning

Discipleship & Education

The Discipleship & Education committee (D&E) oversees all aspect of Christian education opportunities and growth for Sterling Church.  They have a hand in Bible Studies, Sunday School, Confirmation Class, Youth Group and Vacation Bible School.  Members of this committee work closely with the Director of Childrens and Youth Ministries to choose curriculums and plan events.

Finance

The Finance committee is in charge of the financial commitments of the church.  They work closely with the staff finance assistant to maintain the approved budget and allocate funds as necessary to support the work of the church.

Caring for Our Church Family

Congregational Care

The Congregational Care committee serves a vital role in the mission of Sterling Church in helping us to care and love for each other as the hands and feet of Christ.  Members of this committee write letters, make phone calls, organize meals, and go out and visit with our community.
