Serve the Church

Use Your Gifts in Ministry

Serve the Church

Connect with others and become part of something bigger than we could all be individually as you bring your unique gifts and interests to what God is building here at Sterling United Methodist Church.

Check out our Church Committees’ page for more information about what they do and how to get involved.

Ways you can serve include:

  • assisting in worship (music ministry including audiovisual/sound board, reading scripture in the service, assisting with communion, acolyte duty)
  • teaching children, youth, or adults in Sunday school and Bible studies
  • mentoring youth, assisting with youth group activities or providing meals
  • administrative and ministry leadership positions
  • visiting those who are homebound, helping to provide meals to someone recovering from surgery, sending cards, praying or other care ministry activities
  • cooking or helping put on weekly or monthly events or seasonal church-wide meals for our congregation and community.

Church To-Do List

Our Trustees have put together a “to-do” list of projects around the church, and we’d love your help! If you have some time during the week and are willing to lend a hand, this is a great way to serve the church in a practical way. Whether it’s a small task or a bigger project, every effort makes a difference!

Sterling UMC has a strong team of Lay Leadership that helps to guide the activities and missions of the church! There is a place for you to plug in when you are ready!
