A Generous Life

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him won’t perish but will have eternal life.

John 3:16, (CEB)

Generosity is part of the life Jesus calls us to live.

Through his parables, Jesus invites us to see our lives, our neighbors, and all that God has entrusted to us in a new way.

Generosity begins with the stories we tell ourselves about what we have, what we value, and how God calls us to live. As we reflect on our relationship with money and giving, we open ourselves to new possibilities for living more generously and faithfully. Your Estimate of Giving is an opportunity to prayerfully consider how your generosity can reflect your faith in the coming year. It also helps Sterling UMC plan responsibly for the ministries, missions, and opportunities to serve that make a difference in our church and community.

We encourage you to submit a new Estimate of Giving each year. Our circumstances can change from one year to the next, and this is a good opportunity to prayerfully consider what you are able to give in the year ahead. Taking time to revisit your giving allows you to reflect on how God is calling you to practice generosity now and to make a commitment that is meaningful, faithful, and appropriate for your current season of life.

One of the easiest ways to give regularly is through Pushpay, our secure online giving platform. You can set up a recurring gift on the schedule that works best for you and make changes whenever needed. After submitting your Estimate of Giving, you can set up your recurring gifts through Pushpay by visiting the giving page on our website or simply using the button below.

Your place at Sterling UMC is never based on how much you are able to give. We know that every household’s circumstances are different and that those circumstances can change throughout the year. We encourage you to return an Estimate of Giving at whatever level is right for you at this time. Your estimate is not a contract—it is simply a reflection of your prayerful intentions for the year ahead, and you are always welcome to increase, decrease, or adjust it if your situation changes.
