The season of Lent is a significant period in the Christian calendar, offering a time for spiritual reflection, growth, and renewal. The practices outlined—abstaining, giving, reflecting, and praying—are central to the Lenten journey. Here's a deeper look at each of these practices:

abstain

abstain

Purpose: Abstaining during Lent often involves setting aside something that might distract us from our spiritual journey. This could be a habit, a food item, or even a form of entertainment. The goal is not just to sacrifice but to create space for spiritual growth and to quiet the soul.
Benefits: By letting go of certain things, we can focus more on our relationship with God and deepen our inner peace.
give

give

Purpose: Giving during Lent is about cultivating generosity and compassion. This can be through volunteering time, donating resources, or performing acts of kindness.
Benefits: Generosity helps us connect with others and recognize the value of community and service. It also reflects our gratitude for what we have and encourages us to share with those in need.
reflect

reflect

Purpose: Reflection during Lent involves acknowledging the fleeting nature of life and using this awareness to deepen our gratitude and faith. It’s a time to consider our priorities and values.  You may find our Everything in Between devotional and prayer cards helpful.

Benefits: Reflection helps us appreciate the present moment and align our lives more closely with our spiritual beliefs.

pray

pray

Purpose: Prayer is a fundamental practice during Lent, serving as a daily anchor that connects us with God. It can range from simple breath prayers to more profound moments of contemplation.
Benefits: Prayer provides comfort, guidance, and strength. It helps us navigate life’s challenges and fosters a deeper sense of peace and connection with the divine.
