Jesus Heals on the Sabbath - John 5:1-15
Later, Jesus finds the man again. This time in the temple. He is standing; whole.
And Jesus says: “Do not sin any more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
You know: “Don’t mess this up.”
On the surface that can sound like a threat, or a warning. But really, it is gentler than that...more like an invitation.
Don’t drift back into small living.
Don’t forget what has been restored.
Don’t settle for survival when life has been handed back to you.
Abundant life is not merely the absence of suffering. It is participation in something deeper - alignment with God’s heart, living in gratitude, moving with purpose.
The miracle was not the end of the story. It was the beginning of a new way of living.
If life has been handed to us — if zóé is real — then how will we live it? Not cautiously. Not fearfully. But fully.
Holy Spirit, teach me to live well the life you have restored. Keep me from shrinking back. Help me walk in gratitude and courage. Amen.
