SUMC Welcomes Rev. Bert Cloud!

Today is Announcement Sunday for the VA Conference of the United Methodist Church!

This morning in worship we learned a lot of important information about the direction of Sterling UMC!  In case you missed it, here is what you need to know:
  • Reverend Linda Monroe will be retiring at the end of her appointment at Sterling.  Her last day with us will be June 11th!
  • Reverend Marcela Jarman will also be leaving SUMC on that day, and she has been appointed to Crossroads United Methodist in Ashburn, VA.
  • Reverend Bert Cloud will be our new lead Pastor, beginning July 2nd!
These changes will take place in June, so we still have plenty of time with Pastors Linda and Marcela to celebrate their ministry with Sterling and show our appreciation for their leadership and love.

Please hold our church family and all of our leaders in your prayers as we enter this season of transition.  May we face these changes before us with grace, hope and courage.
