Sterling’s United Methodist Women Start 2018 Off Fast

Imagine a chocolate chip pancake staring at you from your plate.

Imagine a chocolate chip pancake laying next to a blueberry pancake staring at you from your plate.

Or maybe just some “plain” pancakes surrounded by eggs and bacon and sausage!

Well you don’t have to just imagine it; you can come experience it on Super Sunday February 4 at Sterling UMC!

The Sterling United Methodist Women will host a Super Bowl Sunday Pancake Breakfast from 8 AM to 12:30 PM in the church’s Gallihugh Hall fellowship hall.  All are invited to attend!

And if you are on a special diet there will be gluten free pancakes available and turkey bacon!

The menu also includes fruit cups and applesauce, juice, coffee, tea, and milk.

A love offering is suggested of $6.00 for adults 12 and up; $5.00 for kids 5 to 11 years old; and free for children under the age of 5.

And while you are here stay and worship at one of our services!  Our 9 AM Traditional Service; our 10 AM Amigos Spanish Language Service; or our 11 AM Contemporary Service with the Praise band.

Sterling’s UMW has a couple of other programs starting off the new year.

Last year our annual LINK Coat Drive held in November, which distributes thousands of coats to local residents, lost its supplier of gloves and mittens.  Our Sterling United Methodist Women are stepping in to help that need with an early start to collecting gloves and mittens for next November’s distribution. That might seem a long time away, but this is the time of the year when you can buy gloves on sale at end of the season discounts! You can donate new gloves, or used gloves in good condition, or you can make a check payable to Sterling UMW, with “Glove Drive” in the memo field.

If you would like to donate gloves or mittens you can drop them off at the church donation center in the lobby.  Please help LINK and SUMC support our families in need right here in Loudoun County.

The UMW is also collecting new and used Christmas cards to be distributed next year at GRACE Ministries.  GRACE Ministries is a food and clothing distribution that occurs every second Saturday of the month here at SUMC.  Next Christmas season the UMW would like to have a supply of cards that can also be distributed.  Donations of cards can also be left at the donation center in the church lobby.

If you would like more information about the Sterling United Methodist Women and their efforts please contact the church office.

Sterling UMC is a community church and all are welcome to visit and attend our services and support our mission efforts.
