Mission Updates – Czech Team Update #3

Nick Yother sends along the following update form the Czech Mission Team:

Hello church family!

We had an amazing day yesterday. It all started with our first small group session. We are leading two small groups every morning for English speakers. Nick, Harrison, and Kyle are in one group while Lonnie, Barbara, and Danielle are in the other. We have the opportunity to talk about faith and encourage them during these groups.

We then shared in a meal and listened in on a 2 hour seminar.

That afternoon we played softball and beach volleyball. It was a great time of teaching the game and building deeper friendships. These times of games are really opening up relationship opportunities for us. Even the language isn’t a barrier when someone hits a home run.

We then led an English discussion group in the afternoon. This group is designed to help the Czechs practice their English. We spoke with them about their hardest struggles which opened up some very interesting dialogue.

In the evening Nick gave a message on God covering all sins. I could not be more proud of Danielle, Harrison, and Kyle. As part of the message they had the opportunity to speak a word of testimony and it really set the tone of people coming face to face with their own struggles. Our teens openness has been when they were uncomfortable was really cool.

There was an evening game that Kyle and Danielle played which required them to solve puzzles and travel a long distance all around the community the camp is in the middle of.

While Lonnie and Barbara taught some of the youth who stayed back how to play the game Skip Bo.

It was a great day of many awesome experiences.

In the grip of grace,
