Sterling United Methodist Church invites you and your families to join us for a homeless education event for 1^st-6^th graders and their parents. Each child must come with an adult. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. Friday and the event concludes around 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

We will learn about homelessness on Friday evening including eating a meal as if we were at a soup kitchen. We will sleep in boxes outside (weather permitting- bring your own box). In the morning, we will have a walk to raise awareness and money for those who are living in poverty. We will end our morning at Community of Faith United Methodist Church, where we will learn about their food pantry and help stock their shelves.

Please bring canned goods to help Community of Faith United Methodist Church (on Fairfax County Parkway) feed the poor.

What would it be like to...

- Get your food from a food pantry

- Live in a car

- Sleep on the streets

- Pay your bills with very little income

- Eat your meals at a soup kitchen

- Rely on a free health clinic for your medical needs

Cost is $15 for each child and $25 for adults. Registration forms due to the Church Office by October 14 to receive a t-shirt at the event. Later registrations will be accepted and t-shirt will be available for you after the event.
